| 3/4 | cup packed brown sugar | | 1/4 | cup butter or margarine | | 1/2 | cup crunchy peanut butter | | 4 | cups Cheerios® cereal | | 1 | quart favorite ice cream, sherbet or frozen yogurt, slightly softened |
| 1. | In 3-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar and butter over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth. Stir in peanut butter. Stir in cereal. Reduce heat to low; cook and stir 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat. | | 2. | Spread mixture on waxed paper or foil. Cool completely. | | 3. | Spoon half the mixture in ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Press firmly with back of buttered spoon or hands. Spread evenly with ice cream. Top with remaining cereal mixture; press down firmly. Freeze until firm. For bars, cut into 4 rows by 3 rows. |
